Our values are expressed through the choices we make every day: how we craft our garments, the people and partners we work with, and the materials we use. They shape a way of working that prioritises production without excess, long-standing relationships, carefully chosen natural fabrics, reduced impact on the environment, and a close connection with the communities around us.
Process
We produce in short runs to avoid excess from the outset. By maintaining stock of fabrics and raw materials, we are able to plan production closely and make only what is needed.
Our printing methods are chosen with the same rigour. Digital printing on silk and cotton replaces traditional screen printing, reducing both water and energy consumption. We use AZO-free dyes that are free from harmful chemicals, do not pollute water or soil, and are safe for skin.
Waste is addressed at each stage of the process, not only at the end. Fabric offcuts are repurposed into accessories, extending life of materials that would otherwise be discarded.
Our sampling process is also held to a high standard. Samples are made to end-product quality, which helps reduce unnecessary material waste and ensures that development is carried out with the same level of care as final production.
People
We own our atelier in Mumbai, allowing us to oversee production and uphold consistent, high standards throughout.
Our work is shaped by the people who make it. We continue to support techniques developed over generations, while training and developing those who carry them forward. Many of our team members have built their careers with us over decades, growing alongside the business.
We provide living wages and ensure a high standard of working conditions, including air-conditioned spaces and purpose-built on-site facilities designed around the needs of our team.
Some elements of production are carried out by specialist partners. We work closely with a small number of trusted collaborators, training them to ensure craftsmanship remains consistent. We maintain long-standing relationships with our partners and suppliers, and work only with those who share our values.
Our workforce is inclusive, with both women and men involved across various areas of production.
Our team is our community. We work closely together, with a shared culture that extends beyond the workshop into how we connect, support one another, and celebrate.
Fabrics
We source our fabrics through a network of trusted suppliers, working with materials selected directly by our founders for their quality and character.
Our cottons and linens are grown, harvested and woven in India. This reduces the need for long-distance transport while supporting the local communities and craftspeople.
Our silks are sourced from vetted mills selected for their expertise and the standard of their materials. We work across a range of silk qualities, each chosen for its distinct hand, drape and weight, from lighter, more fluid weaves for the summer collections to more structured ones for winter.
Silk Satin
At 20 momme, our silk satin has a smooth hand and a naturally lustrous finish. Its weight lends structure and depth, making it central to our holiday capsules.
Crêpe de Chine
At 18 momme, this lighter, more fluid silk has a softly pebbled texture. Its matte finish and breathability lend themselves naturally to our summer collections.
Silk Twill
At 19 momme, silk twill is mid-weight with a more structured feel. Its diagonal weave gives it body while maintaining a fluid drape.
Silk Velvet
Used in our most exacting capsules, silk velvet has a dense, even pile with a soft hand and subtle sheen, creating a rich, tactile finish.
